"We must win this war": Zaluzhny, Budanov, Naiev, Maliuk and Syrsky congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day

On August 24, Valeriy Zaluzhny, Kyrylo Budanov, Serhiy Naiev, Vasyl Maliuk and Oleksandr Syrsky congratulated Ukrainians on the Independence Day of our country. All of them noted that now we defend our independence in brutal battles with Russian occupants.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny called Ukraine a country of unruly, unshakable and unbending, as well as proud, heroic and brave people. The general shared a video of our military on his Facebook page.

Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, published a congratulatory message on Telegram. He noted that the Ukrainian people's way to Independence was long and hard. This struggle continues now.

"We are destroying the Russian occupiers, courageously and selflessly reclaiming our territories for the second year in a row after a full-scale invasion... We have a common goal of winning, a common dream of building an independent, peaceful, safe and rich future and a common idea of bringing justice in all its manifestations!" the Head of DIU wrote.

He wished that the main state holiday inspired Ukrainians to further fight against the hated enemy, and the heroic Victory of Ukraine became a universal victory of the entire democratic world.

"Eternal memory and respect to the heroes who gave their lives for their native land, for our happy future", Major General Budanov said.

Commander of the Joint Forces of the AFU Serhiy Naiev noted on Facebook that today the entire Ukrainian people and the Armed Forces are showing the world an example of how to fight for Independence and Freedom.

He reminded that partner countries help Ukraine. "Modern weapons, armaments and military equipment coming to the Ukrainian army demonstrate the unity of the anti-Putin coalition. And such truly global unity inspires confidence in the alternative-free finale of our war of liberation with our victory!" the Lieutenant General emphasized.

Vasyl Maliuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine, reminded that August 24 is exactly one and a half years since we are holding back another wave of Russian invasion of our land.

"During the full-scale war, Independence acquired new meanings. It has become not only the embodiment of our right to life and freedom but also a symbol of heroism and feat," Maliuk wrote on Facebook.

He said that his department conducts unique special operations and contributes to the day when the words cherished for all Ukrainians will sound. "The enemy is destroyed, Ukraine has won".

"Do not forget that this path is fought with the blood of Heroes who gave their lives for the Motherland. Our military brothers are emong them, whom we will always remember. Their feat gives strength to fight and destroy the enemy. We will endure because we are defending our native land," the SSU head said.

Oleksandr Syrsky, commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, congratulated his fellow citizens on his Telegram channel as well.

"Independence. Our ancestors fought for it for centuries. Our generation also has to fight for it. It is we who must end this war once and for all with our victory," he emphasized.

Syrsky pointed out that the Defense Forces are liberating our towns and villages step by step. "Glory to the heroes who fell for Ukraine! We remember and will not forgive the enemy a drop of blood. Glory to the heroes who are in the ranks today and who write the modern history not only ours but also of the whole world. Ukraine was, is and will be!" Colonel-General stated.
