Joshua is preparing a setup for Usyk with a fight for the title of absolute champion

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) expects to fight Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) next. This may prevent Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) from returning to the ring against the Briton in the battle for all the belts of the Royal Division.

This was stated by promoter Eddie Hearn in an interview with talkSPORT. The head of Matchroom Boxing, which manages Joshua's affairs, called Dubois the favorite for the fight against the Watford native. At the same time, Anthony's team is considering several other options.

"Daniel Dubois is still No. 1. In a perfect world, Joshua would fight Tyson Fury, if not Dubois. There's also Joseph Parker, who I think would make a great fight, there's Agit Kabayel and Deontay Wilder," Hearn said.

Dubois and Joshua already took to the ring last September and Daniel knocked out his opponent in the fifth round. After that, his fight against Parker was canceled due to illness.

At the same time, it is planned that Dubois will become Usyk's next opponent in a fight for the title of absolute world champion. These boxers have also already met in August 2023. Back then, Oleksandr won by technical knockout in the ninth round, and Daniel scored a dirty punch below the belt.

Earlier it became known that Usyk could be stripped of his World Boxing Council (WBC) belt. Usyk himself said when he intends to retire. Oleksandr also said that he is preparing to hold the most unusual fight of his career.
