Short biography

Sergey Ivanovich Naev is a Ukrainian military officer, a lieutenant general.

Since March 2018, he has been deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and commander of the Joint Operational Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Wikipedia, he was born in 1970 in Mogilev-Podolsky, Vinnitsa Region.

He received his higher education at Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School in 1991.

From 1992 till May 1993, he was at the disposal of the commander of the Far Eastern Military District in Russia as a certified combat Russian officer; he took the official oath of allegiance to the Armed Forces of Russia and the Russian state.

In the Armed Forces of Ukraine - since May 1993.

In the 90's and early 2000's he served in various positions in the Western and Southern Operational Commands.

In 2006-2007, he was a student in the faculty of training of operational and strategic level specialists of the National Academy of Defense of Ukraine. As the best graduate, he was awarded the Badge of Honor - the Sword of the Queen of Great Britain, which he received from the hands of the ambassador of this state in Ukraine.

From 2007 to early 2014, he held various leadership positions in the 13th Army Corps of the Ground Forces.

In 2014, he was head of Sector B during the fighting for Donetsk Airport.

As of early 2015, he was the Chief of Staff of Operational Command South.

From 2015 to 2017, he was the commander of Operational Command East.

The lieutenant general served as chief of staff - first deputy commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On March 7, 2018, Viktor Muzhenko, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, introduced Sergey Naev as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On March 16, 2018, he was appointed commander of the Joint Operational Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against Sergei Naev for the so-called "criminal orders" that led to the deaths in Donbass.

Married. Raises two sons and a daughter.
