Ukrainian border to be closed against Russian aggression and saboteurs: Nayev gives details

All this was done to prevent the infiltration of enemy sabotage groups and the crossing of the border by Russian armoured vehicles

In July, 30 anti-tank minefields and barriers were installed on the Ukrainian border, using more than 5,800 mines, and about 5,000 metres of trenches and 6,500 metres of anti-tank ditches were constructed. All this should protect Ukraine in the event of repeated aggression by Russia or attempts by sabotage groups to infiltrate.

This was announced by the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, on his Facebook page.

According to him, 80 blocked gaps, shelters and firing positions for personnel, as well as firing positions for heavy equipment, have also been built.

"We continue to create engineering barriers directly along the state border. We are digging anti-tank ditches and mining the area," Nayev wrote.

He said that all this was done to prevent the infiltration of enemy sabotage groups and the crossing of the border by Russian armoured vehicles.

"We understand that we will not need the state border line with our northern neighbours in civilian form for a long time, as we have no friends on the other side of the border. Therefore, the task has been set to make the border strip impassable for the enemy," said the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
