Vasily Malyuk
Malyuk Vasily Vasilyevich - the head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Brief biography
Vasily Malyuk was born on February 28, 1983 in Korostyshiv, Zhytomyr region.
Since 2001, he began his military service in the state security bodies.
In 2005, he received a higher legal education at the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, majoring in Jurisprudence.
In January 2020, he was appointed first deputy head of the SBU Main Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime. In March of the same year he became the first deputy head of the SBU - the head of the Chief Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the SBU Central Directorate.
In 2022 by presidential decree, Malyuk was appointed first deputy head of the SBU and later - acting head.
Malyuk was a participant in combat operations in eastern Ukraine.
In December 2022, by presidential decree, he was promoted to the military rank of Major General.
On February 7, 2022, he was appointed head of the SBU.
