"We will always remember our Heroes": Zelenskyy honors fallen soldiers on Independence Day

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska paid tribute to the fallen soldiers on Saturday, August 24, Ukraine's Independence Day. The Head of State assured that Ukrainians will always remember their Heroes and be grateful to those who defended Ukrainian statehood and independence.

Zelenskyy posted a video of the event on his official Telegram channel. Together with his wife, he walked down the alley in memory of the fallen soldiers and laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen for Ukraine at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery.

During the ceremony, the horn signal "Honor!" was sounded, the President's Office said.

"We will always remember our Heroes and will be grateful to each and everyone who defended our statehood and independence. Eternal and bright memory to our defenders who fought for a free Ukraine!" the Head of State said.
