"I have all the tools": Dubois prepares for rematch with Usyk after defeating Joshua
After defeating Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) would like to rematch with Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs). The holder of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt would like to get even with the Ukrainian for his defeat in August 2023.
This was stated by Dubois' promoter Frank Warren in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live. At the same time, according to the representative of the 27-year-old London native, the issue of his client's repeat fight against Joshua will now be considered.
"The fight I would like to see him in now is Usyk again. He's a different Daniel Dubois, he's more mature physically and mentally. He will gain strength. He is a young man and has all the tools to become the strongest in the division. Joshua's contract has a rematch clause, but it's not in ours. But that doesn't mean we won't do it. It's something we'll sit down and discuss," Warren said.
It should be noted that the fight between Joshua and Dubois ended in a brutal knockout in the fifth round. At the same time, promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk noted that the fight should have ended in disqualification after the first round.
Before the fight, Wembley Stadium gave Usyk a standing ovation. The Ukrainian himself was shocked by the outcome of the fight between the two Britons. By the way, the Gypsy King lost 150 million because of Joshua's defeat.
