Oleksandr Oleksandr Usik is a famous Ukrainian heavyweight boxer.

Short biography

Alexander Usik was born on January 17, 1987, in Simferopol, Ukraine.

He was engaged in different sport sections - soccer, judo, and even folk dances. But since the age of 15, I went into boxing completely.

I got the higher education in Lviv State University of Physical Education.

In 2005 debuted on the international scene, winning the World Youth Tournament in Hungary, the middleweight category.

In 2008 he won the Strandzha Cup in Bulgaria, thus getting a license to participate in the Olympic Games.

The same year he fought for the first time on Olympic Games (Beijing) but lost the fight in the second round.

Usik rehabilitated himself in 2012, at the London Olympics, where he won the gold medal and danced victory gopak right in the ring.

In 2013 he signed the contract with K2 Promotions, the promoter owned by Klitschk brothers, and since that time he turned to the professional category.

He opened his own sportswear store "Usyk Sportswear".

Usyk supports the Ukrainian military in Donbass, has repeatedly visited AFU positions, in particular in Marinka.

He expresses a controversial position on the issue of belonging to the Crimea.

• Alexander Usik vs Tony Bellew: the fight took place on November 10, 2018 in London. By knocking out Bellew in the eighth round, Usik defended his titles obtained after defeating Gassiev.

Alexander Usik is married. With his wife Catherine met back in high school. The family brings up three children - Elizaveta, Mikhail and Kirill.
