"Not respected enough": boxing legend unexpectedly speaks out about Usyk
Former world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman expressed confidence that boxing fans do not fully realize the class of Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs). The legendary American emphasized that our compatriot managed to achieve fantastic results both in the professional and amateur rings.
Rahman said this in an interview with the Fight Hype YouTube channel. The famous boxer admired the Ukrainian superchampion and urged fans and experts to appreciate the opportunity to watch Usyk's performances, who has won everything possible.
"I consider Usyk to be one of the greatest great boxers in history. Based on the statistics, on what he has done, I don't see anyone who can compare to him. I know that Usyk took the gold medal at the Olympics. He's the only one who then combined four heavyweight belts, and then moved up to super heavyweight, and also took four belts. This has never been done before. I think people don't respect his achievements enough," Rahman said.
We would like to remind you that Usyk is scheduled to return to the ring in the summer. It is planned that his opponent will be the British Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs), with whom he already fought in August the year before last. Back then, Oleksandr won by TKO in the ninth round, and Daniel scored a dirty punch below the belt.
Earlier it became known that Usyk could be stripped of his World Boxing Council (WBC) belt. Usyk himself said when he intends to retire. Oleksandr also said that he is preparing to hold the most unusual fight of his career.
