Dubois is preparing a setup for Usyk for the fight for the title of absolute champion

Oleksandr ChekanovNews

The fight between unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) for all the belts of the division is in question. The Briton plans to return to the ring in June, but our compatriot does not intend to fight until the fall.

In an interview with Boxing News, Dubois' trainer Don Charles said that his charges will return to training camp in a few weeks. After the disruption of the fight against Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs), the Briton intends to hold a championship fight again as soon as possible.

"A rematch with Usyk is the only logical fight that can be held. I gave Dubois three weeks off. Daniel never gains more than two kilograms – he's a very disciplined guy, and we've been doing camps back-to-back for the last 18 months. We're probably going to start training camp in about four weeks and then have a fight, probably in May or June," Charles said.

We would like to remind you that the boxers already took to the ring in August of the year before last. Back then, Oleksandr won by technical knockout in the ninth round, and Daniel scored a dirty punch below the belt.

Earlier it became known that Usyk could be stripped of his World Boxing Council (WBC) belt. Usyk himself told when he intends to end his career. Oleksandr also said that he is preparing to hold the most unusual fight of his career.
