WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) commented on the news that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had brought his championship belt to a meeting with Donald Trump. During the broadcast, the boxing trophy was behind the president of Ukraine.
Usyk, who was celebrating his daughter's birthday, was caught by fans who jokingly asked him why he was here and his belts were in Washington.
"I don't know. My belts are all at home. And what kind of belt did Zelensky give Trump? A special belt, I think. I know what kind of belt it is, I just can't tell anyone. And I don't want to," Usyk said in the video.
The picture with the championship belt went viral online, garnering more than 144 thousand views in a day.
It should be noted that the belt that was in the White House during the meeting of the presidents is different from the official trophy that Oleksandr won last May by beating Tyson Fury.
It was the real one that Usyk presented to Volodymyr Zelensky in August 2024.
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, during the talks at the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump, and Vice President J.D. Vance had a dispute over negotiations with Russia.
Vance criticized Zelenskyy for not thanking the US for the assistance, while Trump called for the agreement to be signed and the fighting to stop.
