Our titled champion has arrived in the capital of England
Former absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and his team arrived in London to attend the fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois. It will take place at the legendary Wembley Stadium on Saturday, September 21.
OBOZ.UA will provide an online broadcast. The start is 23:45 Kyiv time. It was reported that Usyk will meet Tyson Fury in the stands, who will also attend the show.
On his Instagram, Usyk posted a photo of himself posing with his coaches Serhiy Lapin, Yuriy Tkachenko, and boxer Daniel Lapin. All of them are wearing identical lilac suits with the words "undisputed" written on them.
As reported, a few days ago Usyk was detained at the Krakow airport. There was a video of our boxer being taken to a special room in handcuffs.
Later, Usyk's promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk explained what happened. As it turned out, Oleksandr's arrest was initiated by RyanAir employees who refused to let one of our champion's friends on board the plane. The man's condition was described as "deep alcohol intoxication", which was not confirmed later.
The airline did not see any violations on its part. They believe that all the actions of the employees were adequate.
Polish promoter Andrzej Wasilewski called the situation with the arrest of Oleksandr Usyk shameful for Poland. The incident itself caused social media to explode with memes.
