Oleksandr Usyk at a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy
WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) said that in addition to a rematch with Tyson Fury, he would not mind having a third fight against British boxer Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs). According to Oleksandr, these are the only boxers that he is interested in.
"It's a rematch with Fury and maybe a third fight with Joshua. Only these two guys are still interesting, and then let the young people come and work better," sport.ua quoted Usyk as saying.
The Ukrainian boxer also admitted that his goal is to have the whole Olympic NSC watch his fight in Kyiv in peacetime
"It is not my goal to have the entire Madison Square Garden. Madison is a cool place, but I want to please my audience. I'm sure the whole stadium, 80 thousand, will be sold out. So God willing, it will happen," added our boxer.
Earlier, the famous promoter Eddie Hearn said that he wanted to organize a third fight for Usyk with his ward Anthony Joshua.
On September 21, Joshua will fight Daniel Dubois for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which our boxer was forced to give up.
As reported earlier, on September 26, 2021, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua and won the WBO, WBA IBF and IBO heavyweight belts. The fight in London at the Tottenham Football Club stadium ended with a unanimous decision of the judges - 117-112, 116-112, 115-113.
A year later, the rematch between Usyk and Joshua in Jeddah ended in the Ukrainian's victory in a split decision.
