"They'll start blaming me": Russian champion explains why he didn't bet against Usyk in Fury fight
Russian light heavyweight Artur Beterbiev (21-0, 21 KOs) did not predict Tyson Fury's (34-0-1, 24 KOs) victory over Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) in the May 18 fight. According to the Dagestani, who is now shamefully hiding under the Canadian flag, one punch can decide everything in the heavyweight division.
Beterbiev said this in an interview with the press service of the Queensberry Promotions promotional company, which published a video with the Russian on its YouTube channel. The 39-year-old boxer emphasized that he was looking forward to the fight between the Ukrainian and the Briton with great interest.
"It's boxing, it's heavyweight. So I don't know. But I think it will be a good fight. They will prepare well, definitely well. If I say that Fury will win and then Usyk wins, everyone will start blaming me. So I don't want to predict anything. I will watch the fight as a fan," Beterbiev said.
Earlier, the Russian boxer spoke about Usyk's main weakness. Last week, the broadcaster of the Usyk-Fury fight in Ukraine was announced and the cost of the show was determined. Former world champion Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) made his prediction for the fight. Jordan Thompson (15-1, 12 KOs), the sparring partner of the two rivals, also shared his expectations for the duel.
New details of the two fights between Usyk and Fury have also emerged, including a rematch in October this year. Tyson himself has already confirmed that he does not intend to refuse fight #2 against the Ukrainian. Oleksandr's team also named a boxer who will replace the Briton if he refuses to enter the ring on May 18.
Former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) has again given a prediction for the Usyk-Fury fight. In addition, the fight was evaluated by the former rival of the Ukrainian Tony Bellew.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Oleksandr Usyk's manager Egis Klimas categorically answered the question about the disruption of the fight with Tyson Fury on May 18. Also, the Pope's reaction to the fight between the Ukrainian and the Briton became known.
