Britain's Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) will make a voluntary defence of his World Boxing Council (WBC) belt against former world champion Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) from Mexico. The Gypsy King, as the Manchester-born fighter is known, will take to the ring in mid-summer, although he was scheduled to fight Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) on April 29.

Such data was released by Anthony Joshua's (25-3, 22 KOs) promoter Eddie Hearn in an interview with Boxing King Media's YouTube channel. According to him, the fight with Ruiz will be an interim fight for Fury before a grand show that is to be organised in Saudi Arabia this winter with the participation of his client, Tyson himself, Usyk and Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs).

"Will Tyson Fury fight in the summer? Yes. Andy Ruiz, July 22. Joshua. I would like him to fight in the summer. But at the same time, we're talking about potential fights with Fury and Wilder in December. Maybe people who are interested in that won't want to see Joshua fight in the summer. I can say for sure that AJ will fight Wilder or Fury in December. I can't say anything about July. But I want all four boxers to have interim fights," said Hearn.

Earlier, Joshua himself confirmed that he would fight Wilder in the winter. Hearn himself spoke about Saudi Arabia's plans to organise the Usyk-Fury and Joshua-Wilder fights on the same night. According to the Briton's forecasts, the guaranteed fees of all boxers could reach $400 million.

Before that, British journalists published information about a similar tournament in the Middle East. According to their information, the winners of the two fights would have to fight each other.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Oleksandr Usyk's manager Egis Klimas told when the Ukrainian boxer will fight next.
