"I'm just happy": Joshua laughs at Usyk-Fury fight cancellation
Joshua comments on the disruption of the Usyk vs Fury fight

British boxer Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) reacted with irony to the disruption of the fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion between Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and British boxer Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs). The Watford native laughed at the cancellation of the historic fight, noting that it was perhaps the first time that his promoter Eddie Hearn was not blamed for the failure of the show.

Joshua spoke about this with a smile in a conversation with journalists on the eve of his return to the ring on April 1, Boxing Social writes. He added that the status of world champion carries many obligations for boxers and it is difficult for them to organise for really big fights that fans are waiting for.

"I'm just happy that Eddie Hearn is not guilty of something that has nothing to do with him. Eddie always gets blamed for everything, and so do I. I'm just glad that Eddie is not being blamed for something for once. Being a champion is not easy. Look at Usyk. He doesn't even have a fight date yet, and he's the world champion. I was the last fighter he fought, and I will fight on Saturday," said the British ex-champion.

Earlier, Joshua demonstrated his true attitude towards Usyk. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the situation around the Ukrainian champion's fights. In addition, Anthony spoke unequivocally about the third fight against our boxer.

Earlier, Oleksandr publicly commented on the cancellation of the fight with Fury for the first time. In turn, Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn expressed confidence that the Ukrainian's fight against Tyson would take place.

Earlier, the World Boxing Association (WBA) named the British Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) as a mandatory contender for the Ukrainian championship belt. Our compatriot decided to leave his training camp after the news of the cancellation of the fight with Tyson.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Usyk's promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk revealed the details of negotiations with Tyson Fury and the reason for the cancellation of the historic superfight. Frank Warren, the British promoter, threatened the Ukrainian with the loss of his championship belt. In addition, American Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) admitted that he was not surprised by the cancellation of the Usyk-Fury fight.
