What Emilia Clarke, Nicole Kidman and other actresses looked like at the start of their careers
A naïve look and not always skillfully chosen clothes and makeup: this is how you can describe actors who start their way into cinema. Over the years, they improve their looks. And while some of them limit themselves to consultations with stylists and makeup artists, others go further and undergo plastic surgery and beauty injections.
In the OBOZ.UA article, we decided to compare what world-famous movie stars looked like at the beginning of their careers and now. Some of them have retained their natural charm, while others have changed beyond recognition.
1. Nicole Kidman
Australian actress Nicole Kidman had red curly hair in her youth. She used a black pencil on her upper and lower eyelids and wore rather modest clothes (cotton dresses, T-shirts, shirts with jeans, etc.).
She is now 56 years old. The celebrity goes to social events in more open, elegant dresses and suits, with red lipstick on her lips and delicately made-up eyes. She often gathers her hair in a bun rather than leaving it loose. What about Nicole's beauty manipulations? When the first age-related changes appeared, she decided to undergo rhinoplasty, as well as face and neck lifting. And now she regularly has her lips augmented and gets Botox injections.
2. Emilia Clarke
In 2009, Emilia Clarke was an actress who was given low-profile roles. Everything changed in 2011. She had the honor of playing Daenerys Targaryen, the main character in the mega-successful Game of Thrones series. In just a few years, the gray mouse girl in modest outfits turned into an elegant lady with exquisite taste. Now 37-year-old Emilia is in no hurry to remove small facial wrinkles and forbids retouchers to mask them in photos. In this way, the star demonstrates her love for herself and the fact that you can look gorgeous at any age without going to plastic surgeons.
3. Meryl Streep
The American actress Meryl Streep can play any role: a refugee in Sophie's Choice, a bitchy editor in The Devil Wears Prada, or Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. And while the star easily embodies this or that look on the set, she is more conservative in real life. Both at the beginning of her career and now, she mostly wears things in rich colors and loose fitting, and slightly emphasizes her natural beauty with makeup. Now Meryl is 74 years old, and she is convinced that she can do without plastic surgery.
4. Sharon Stone
In her youth, American actress Sharon Stone often experimented with hairstyles: she had perms, bob, square, pixie, etc. Her clothing style was also not monotonous: from modest oversized sweaters with pants to revealing dresses with a deep neckline.
Nowadays, the 65-year-old star gets short haircuts only. Her favorite outfits are midi and maxi dresses, as well as classic suits with pants. Her makeup hasn't changed much: the emphasis is on the eyes and less often on the lips. Sharon maintains her beauty with regular exercise, a balanced diet, and high-quality skin care products. In an interview, she said, "It seems to me that in the art of aging, you can afford some 'imperfections' that add sensuality and sexuality to the look."
5. Jennifer Lopez
American actress Jennifer Lopez has always been confidently keeping up with fashion. She wears shades that suit her color type and a cut that correctly outlines her athletic shape. But it didn't work out immediately with her makeup. She used to wear lipstick that aged her lips or choose the wrong foundation. Now the 54-year-old star has corrected these and other mistakes, so her every appearance makes a splash.
