Santa Luna, Dominic and other unusual names of Ukrainian stars' children
Celebrities who were creative when choosing a name for a child.

Choosing a name for a child is always an exciting moment in a parent's life. They study everything about it: from its euphony and origin to how it can affect the child's personality and future. There is currently no scientific evidence that a name really shapes a person's destiny. This means that there are no refutations either.

Some mothers and fathers want the baby's name to be unusual and sometimes mysterious, and Ukrainian celebrity parents are no exception. Read more in the article by OBOZ.UA.

1. Jamala

Ukrainian singer Susana Jamaladinova (Jamala) and her husband Seit-Bekir Suleimanov are of Crimean Tatar-Armenian descent. Thus, they chose the appropriate names for their sons: Emir-Rahman and Selim-Girai. In Russian, Emir means "ruler" and Rahman means "merciful". The star explained her other name as follows, "Selim-Girai is a name with historical roots. This is one of the main figures in the history of the Crimean Khanate, an outstanding ruler, beloved by both the people and the nobility. My husband liked the name Selim, and I liked the name Giray."

By the way, both children look like their star mom.

The ex-spouses named the girl Emilia (from the Latin name "Aemilius", which means "rival"), and the boy Evan-Oleksandr (short for Evan; the name has a biblical origin and means "young fighter").

4. Daniel Salem

Ukrainian restaurateur and TV presenter Daniel Salem and his ex-wife Maria, who came to the defense of the country in February 2022, are the parents of a daughter named Santa Luna (Santa means "holidays" in Italian, and lūna means "moonlight" in Latin). 5. Ksenia Mishyna, MONATIK

Ukrainian theater and film actress Ksenia Mishyna also chose a non-standard name for her child: she named him Plato (from the Greek for "broad-shouldered"). The celebrity is raising her son on her own, and she broke up with his father when she was pregnant. Interestingly, there is another artist in the Ukrainian show business who is raising a son named Platon. This is Ukrainian singer and dancer Dmytro Monatik (MONATIK). He and his wife Iryna named their other son Daniel.
