On August 24, Ukraine used the latest Ukrainian development, the Palianytsia missile-drone, in combat for the first time. It will help our country destroy the enemy's offensive potential.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He also published a video of the development, which reveals some of the characteristics.

"Over the two and a half years of full-scale war, Russia has fired about 10,000 missiles of various types and more than 33,000 anti-aircraft missiles at Ukraine. The attacks on our cities can be stopped by striking the carriers of these weapons - Russian aircraft at military airfields. Yesterday was the first successful combat use of our new weapon - the Ukrainian long-range Palianytsia missile-drone. It was developed by our own forces to destroy the offensive potential of the enemy," the Head of State emphasized.

Zelenskyy assured that there will be more missile-drones, just as Ukraine has increased the production of its own long-range attack drones, which demonstrate impressive results every day.

The Palianytsia is another development from the list of Ukrainian weapons that are produced in Ukraine and are already bringing the liberation of Ukrainian territories from the enemy closer.

Our Western allies still do not allow us to use the missiles we have been given to hit military targets deep inside Russia, so Ukraine has had to find other ways to strike the same military airfields in Russia from which enemy bombers and missile launchers take off.

To increase domestic arms production, a state grant program for private missile projects was launched, and significant investments were made in state design bureaus. Deregulation was also implemented to stimulate the industry.

"And here are the first results. Meet Palianytsia, a Ukrainian-made long-range missile-drone. Almost everything about it is classified. But some things are still known," the president said in a video.

In particular, it is known that there are two dozen Russian military airfields within the range of the Palianytsia. It is launched from a ground platform. It has a turbojet engine, and its cost is much lower than its Western counterparts. At the same time, developers are working to reduce its cost even further and scale up production.

At the same time, neither the combat radius of the drone missile, nor its warhead, nor the manufacturer are disclosed.

The development was completed "phenomenally fast": within just a year and a half. According to the video, all those involved in the development had a strong motivation to protect the lives of Ukrainians by destroying the enemy's offensive potential on its territory.

As a reminder, on Ukraine's Independence Day, Zelenskyy announced the first use of the Palianytsia missile-drone, which was used to attack enemy military facility and which successfully hit the target.
