Zelenskyy explains how the Kursk operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can affect the situation in Donbas
The operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region is fulfilling its tasks and is going according to plan. And it may affect the situation in Donbas.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his working visit to Zaporizhzhia. He stated that the situation in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions is currently difficult.
"The Kursk operation is fulfilling its tasks and is going according to plan. As for the difficulties in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions, we believe that the Kursk operation may also have an impact on this. There may be a decrease in the aggravation due to a reduction in the number of Russian troops. But so far, it is difficult there," Zelenskyy said.
The President added that it was in this direction that the most combat-ready Russian brigades have always been concentrated. For Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the complete occupation of Donbas has been the main goal since the beginning of the war.
"This has always been the main goal – Donbas, the complete total occupation of Donbas. There has been no progress there for two days. This is what the chief of the army reported to me," the president said.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy came to Zaporizhzhia on a working visit with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof. They discussed important steps to strengthen the defense and development of the region.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Zelenskyy offered the Netherlands to take patronage of Zaporizhzhia, which includes support in rebuilding infrastructure, humanitarian aid, and ensuring normal life in the face of war. During the trip, the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands also discussed the supply of new air defense systems and missiles for F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
