Zelenskyy: all those who help Russia will be held accountable

On Saturday, December 23, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees on Ukraine's sanctions decisions. He emphasized that everyone who helps Russia will be held accountable for their actions.

The head of state made this statement during his evening video address. The video was published by the Presidential Office.

"There are new sanctions decisions. I signed the relevant decrees and they have already been published. This is a total of more than 130 legal entities and more than 20 individuals. Those who work for Russia, those who help it, and those who have taken the dastardly path of collaboration with the terrorist state. All of them will be held accountable for their actions. We will defend Ukraine. I thank everyone who is with Ukraine!" the President said.

He emphasized that the past week has made us all and our state even stronger.

According to Zelenskyy, there are new aid packages.

"Gepards, anti-aircraft guns and shells - caliber 155 - and other necessary weapons from Germany. Thank you! A package of more than 100 million euros to help our resilience from the Netherlands. Thank you! The 21st package of assistance - specifically defense - and also for more than 100 million euros from Finland. Thank you!" he said.

In addition, the potential for US sanctions has increased this week. There are decisions on financial institutions that help Russia circumvent sanctions and cooperate with the terrorist military-industrial complex. There are also new sanctions decisions against those who help Russia export oil in violation of price caps.

"It is especially important to put pressure on such Russian ties with accomplices. I am grateful for this. We also expect the approval of the US support package for the next year, and I am grateful to the representatives of both parties for understanding that a decision must be made," the president added.

In addition, as he emphasized, this week, we have once again proved how effective the strengthening of our air shield is. And not only to protect cities and villages from Russian drones and missiles but also for frontline work.

"The ability to shoot down Russian fighters is one of the keys to ending this war fairly. I am grateful to all partners who are already helping us with this and who are preparing for appropriate steps in support next year," he said.

At the same time, the President thanked all the defenders of Ukraine in all directions from Kharkiv to Kherson, as well as on the border, those who protect against Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups, those who destroy Shahed drones, and those who hold our borders.

Zelenskyy also noted the military from the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade.

"Soldier Vasyl Polishchuk and Sergeant Oleh Bernadskyi are both extremely effective, both were wounded and both are exemplary brave. Thank you! Soldier Oleksii Kopytsia from the 23rd Separate Mechanized Brigade is now in the Avdiivka sector, had defensive battles in the south and heroic assault actions. Ivan Kireev, a soldier with the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade in Mariupol, thank you for your Cossack courage and for saving your comrades! Soldier Yevhen Lisovenko and senior sergeant Kostiantyn Volokonskyi from the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. Thank you, guys, for your determination and for your actions that saved the lives of your comrades! Soldier Mykhailo Karpiuk, senior soldier Volodymyr Lebedev and senior lieutenant Oleh Kryvenko from the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade. Guys, the tank crew, thank you for the successful destruction of the occupiers and for your ability to be a strong team! Well done!" Zelenskyy summarized.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy imposed sanctions on a number of companies and individuals. The list of dozens of items includes those who cooperate with the enemy in the occupied territories.
