Zelensky: All those who received the Hero of Ukraine during the war are guaranteed to receive their own housing
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that the government is launching an important initiative. All soldiers who have been awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine during the war with Russia are guaranteed to receive their own housing at public expense.
He said this during a meeting with Ukrainian soldiers and their families at the Mariinsky Palace on the eve of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Zelensky, about 360 people have received this highest state award since February 24, 2022.
"We are starting to implement an important initiative aimed at implementing a simple principle: Ukraine protects those who protect Ukraine. Under this initiative, all those who have been awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine since the beginning of the war will receive their own housing. All those who, while defending the country, became a holder of the Golden Star Order. All of them, without exception," the president emphasized.
According to Zelensky, during the full-scale Russian invasion, at least 360 Ukrainian citizens were awarded the highest state title.
"The state will take care of each of them - both those who are with us and the families of all those who gave their lives for the country," Zelensky emphasized.
The Head of State also thanked all the soldiers who demonstrated the highest courage, valor and self-sacrifice in the defense of Ukraine - both those who are still standing side by side with their brothers on the front line and those who returned home on the shield.
"I sincerely thank all of you, our Heroes, for everything you have done. I sincerely thank the families of the victims for their endurance and courage. I sincerely believe that one day everyone in peaceful Ukraine - Ukraine that won - will know about the valor and deeds of every Hero of Ukraine. The one that will win," Zelensky emphasized.
As a reminder, the day before, Zelensky spoke about increasing Ukraine's own weapons production. In particular, according to him, six Bohdan self-propelled artillery systems are currently rolling off the assembly lines in Ukraine every month, and there are prospects for further increasing the production of these systems.
In addition, he said, important defense agreements with partners are being implemented.
"We have received both scarce missiles for existing air defense systems and new, modern anti-aircraft systems. I am grateful to our friends," the Head of State emphasized.
