"We did not start this war": Lavrov speaks again about "fraternal peoples" and calls Zelenskyy "inadequate"

Russian Foreign Minister and war criminal Sergey Lavrov has once again made a series of cynical statements about Ukraine, against which his country is waging war. Once again, he spouted nonsense about the "coup d'état" in Ukraine in 2014, which, according to him, was the reason why "Ukraine is not united now."

In an interview with American propagandist Tucker Carlson, Lavrov cynically stated that if the agreement reached in 2014 between Yanukovych and the opposition had been implemented, "Ukraine would still be united and Crimea would be part of it."

Moreover, the representative of the occupiers, who are committing horrific war crimes in Ukraine, killing civilians and destroying homes, schools, and hospitals, said that Russia allegedly does not intend to destroy the Ukrainian people, "they are brothers and sisters of the people of Russia."

"We are not talking about the extermination of anyone's population. We did not start this war... We warned that NATO's approach to our borders would create a problem," Russian propaganda channels quoted Lavrov as saying.

He also called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "inadequate" because he "once defended the Russian language" and then "became president and changed."

"In 2021, he was asked what he thought about people on the other side of the contact line. He replied that there are people and there are 'persons'. Then he said that if someone, living in Ukraine, feels a connection to Russian culture, he advises them to go to Russia for the sake of the future of their children and grandchildren. If after that this person wants to return people of Russian culture to their territorial integrity, as they claim, I consider them inadequate," said war criminal Lavrov.

He also said that "for peace in Ukraine there should be no NATO, no military bases, and no exercises involving foreign troops."

As OBOZ.UA reported, in the same interview, Lavrov again threatened the West with nuclear weapons. According to him, the West is allegedly waging a hybrid war against Moscow. The Russian Federation "does not want escalation" and therefore sent a "signal to the United States in the form of the 'Oreshnik' test."
