Ukrainian Armed Forces take control of two more settlements in Kursk region - Zelensky

Ukrainian defense forces advanced several kilometers in the Kursk region. Several more Russian settlements have come under the control of the Ukrainian army.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address to Ukrainians and the world at the end of the 914th day of the war with Russia on Sunday, August 25. He noted that he had a conversation with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to the President, Ukrainian troops have advanced another one to three kilometers in Kursk region.

Two more settlements have been taken under the control of Ukraine. In addition, active actions are underway in another settlement.

Ukrainian defenders are also actively capturing soldiers of the enemy Russian army. According to the President, the exchange fund has been replenished.

"We also discussed our Donetsk region separately - our defense actions. Novohrodivka and Vodiane are the most important. Most of the assaults. I am grateful to all our units for their resilience," Zelensky added.

As a reminder, as of August 20, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupied at least 93 settlements during the offensive in the Kursk region. According to him, Ukraine controls more than 1,260 square kilometers of the aggressor country's territory.

The offensive actions of Ukrainian defenders continue, despite the actions of the Russian military and the statements of their propagandists about the halt of the Armed Forces.

Zelenskyy said earlier that he does not consider the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in Kursk region an invasion, as it was Russia that invaded our territory 10 years ago. He noted that the operation was a preventive step to prevent the aggressor country from occupying other Ukrainian cities.

The operation in the Kursk region destroyed the plans of the enemy, who was preparing an offensive on Sumy from the Kursk region and wanted to capture the city of Kharkiv, a city with a population of one million.
