"Ukraine will make Europe stronger": Zelensky thanked everyone who is bringing the country closer to EU membership. Video

Zelensky addressed Ukrainians on November 1

November 1 actually marks the day of the creation of such a global organization as the European Union. In a traditional address to Ukrainians, President Volodymyr Zelensky assured that it is our country, wise from the experience of a full-scale war and the desire for democratic freedom, that will make Europe stronger.

"We value our Europe, the Europe of cooperation, not disputes, the Europe of people, not ideologies, because only in this way is our continent able to protect and defend human lives both in Europe and in the world. I am confident that Ukraine will make our Europe stronger than ever," the Ukrainian guarantor said on the evening of November 1, the 616th day of the large-scale war with Russia. His words were broadcast by the Office's press service (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

Zelensky added that Ukraine is doing everything possible to ensure that there are no more obstacles to joining the EU. And no matter how events develop in the world, in our other partners, in America and elsewhere, unity will win.

"I thank everyone for their help to Ukraine, for their joint actions in protecting our European values. I also thank all those in the world who help to preserve unity: everyone from Washington to every capital of the world that values people and life," the Head of State emphasized.

Zelensky also spoke about the results of the working day, including important meetings and the Headquarters: military, intelligence, officials responsible for the situation in the regions. He separately highlighted the meeting with the team that represented Ukraine at the meeting of advisers on the Peace Formula in Malta.

"We discussed the main details and results of this summit. Some things - very useful for Ukraine, for international law in general - we will not make public yet. The reason is clear: we do not give Russia a chance to disrupt our international efforts. There is a final document of the co-chairs of the meeting of advisors in Malta. And there are many signals from representatives of states, in particular from the Global South and our partners in Europe and America, which confirm the correctness of our course to unite the world around the Peace Formula," the President emphasized.

Zelensky thanked the military, which defends various Ukrainian regions from daily attacks. Last night, 18 "Shaheds" and one guided missile were shot down, but there were some hits.

"But most of the enemy targets were destroyed. In particular, in Poltava region and Chernihiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytsky regions, as well as in our other regions. I thank our soldiers for this. We must clearly remember that each such downing is a rescue of people and infrastructure, and we are strengthening the capabilities of our air defense," he said.

Zelenskyy also reminded Ukrainians how important it is to follow safety measures in the event of air raid warnings. He urged them not to ignore the chance to save their lives or health, to always remember the safety of their loved ones, especially children.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Ukraine aims to reach a political decision on membership in the European Union by the end of 2023. Kyiv is optimistic about the prospects of joining the united European family.
