President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs sufficient long-range capability to change the course of the war and force Russia to seek peace. He called on partners to make appropriate and effective decisions.

The Head of State made this statement to the participants of the XX Annual Meeting of Yalta European Strategy. The video of the speech was published on Zelenskyy's official Telegram channel.

In particular, the president said that while Ukraine is waiting for the delivery of the promised air defense systems, primarily Patriot, from its partners, Russia continues to strike at Ukraine.

According to Zelenskyy, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not need any long-range permits to do so.

"Anyone who simply sees on a map where Russia strikes from, where it trains forces and keeps reserves, where it locates military facilities and what logistics it uses – anyone who sees all this understands why Ukraine needs long-range permits," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, he spoke in detail about this with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

"I hope that after our conversation, there can no longer be any unanswered questions about why Ukraine needs sufficient long-range capability. I want to emphasize: sufficient. Sufficient not just to say that there is a solution. We need enough range to change the course of the war and make Russia seek peace. And we hope for our partners, we hope for the result from our partners," the Head of State urged.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on September 11, Anthony Blinken and David Lemmy visited Kyiv and took part in the Crimean Platform summit. The Western media claimed that during their meeting with Zelenskyy, they could have permitted Kyiv to use Western long-range weapons to strike Russia.

Subsequently, the media reported that the UK would allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles to strike targets in Russia, but that it would not be officially announced soon to avoid "unnecessary provocations."

Following his visit to Europe, Blinken said that in Kyiv he had had in-depth discussions with Ukrainian officials about their vision of the war and their needs. However, he refrained from commenting on whether Washington was ready to authorize strikes on Russian territory.
