The border area of the Sumy region suffers from the constant terror of the occupying forces. The region is subjected to constant shelling, air strikes, and actions of enemy sabotage groups.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his traditional video address at the end of the day. He posted the video on his social media.

"Today is the Sumy region. I have been here with my team all day. First, our military. I visited our guys who are being treated after being wounded. I honored them with state awards," the president said in his final video address.

The second important issue for today was the defense of the Sumy region. According to Zelenskyy, it is especially difficult in the border region, which suffers from constant Russian terror.

During his visit to the Sumy region, the president held a lengthy coordination meeting.

"We discussed internal security issues in the region. The availability of shelters, combating crime, and defense issues. Everything was discussed in detail. The common task of all is to provide all opportunities for jobs here in Sumy region, for social protection to work, for reliable budget revenues," the President emphasized.

The Head of State also said that for the first time a regional meeting on the new economic policy program "Made in Ukraine" was held. It should affect all regions of the country, as it is a significant contribution to the budgets for 2024.

"There are very specific tasks for government officials, the State Property Fund, the President's Office, and the regional authorities following the meetings and conferences here today. We have signed contracts for our defense industry," the President said.

According to the Head of State, he is proud that every month more and more companies and developers offer specific samples of weapons, shells, equipment, demining machines, and many other things – everything that is needed at the front and that will save the lives of our people thanks to the power of technology.

In particular, Zelenskyy said that new contracts for automated fire systems, new FPV drones with appropriate drops, and simulators for mobile fire groups that will help shoot down UAVs more effectively have already been signed.

The President also noted that during his visit to the Sumy region, he met with students studying at the university here.
