"The US reaction was not positive": Zelenskyy explains what will stop Ukraine from striking Russian refineries

Zelenskyy explains when attacks on Russian refineries may stop

The US reaction to the Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries was not positive. However, they will stop only when the terrorist state of Russia stops its shelling of the Ukrainian energy system.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with The Washington Post. He explained that Russian drones, missiles, and guided bombs are breaking through Ukrainian defenses, attacking energy facilities and other critical infrastructure. Ukraine has no choice but to strike back in a justified manner.

"The US reaction was not positive," Zelenskyy said, noting that the White House cannot prevent Ukraine from using its own weapons.

"We used our drones. No one can tell us we can not do that," the president explained.

He emphasized that if Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy cannot be stopped, Russia must pay a similar price, so the shelling of Russian refineries will continue.

"Their society has to learn to live without gasoline, without diesel, without electricity... It's fair," the Ukrainian leader said.

"When Russia stops these actions, we will stop," he assured.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine currently has an urgent need for long-range ATACMS-300 missiles. According to the president, they will be used not against Russian territory but against airfields in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"When Russia knows that we can destroy these aircraft, they will not attack from Crimea. It's like with the navy. We pushed them out of our territorial waters. Now we will push them out of the airports in Crimea," the Ukrainian leader is convinced.

As reported, the data of the Russian Rosstat portal indicate a significant reduction in gasoline production in Russia. During the week of March 18-24, it was produced by 7.4% less than the previous week.

Earlier, Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer of the Information Resistance group, said that although everyone in the environment of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin understands the consequences of Ukrainian attacks on their refineries, they are not going to admit it. At the same time, these strikes have a strong impact on the economy of the aggressor country.

Earlier, the FT reported that American officials allegedly fear that attacks on Russian refineries could lead to higher fuel prices, particularly in the United States. The article was published on March 22, the same day that Russia launched its most massive attack on Ukraine's energy facilities in recent times.

As reported, Former NSDC Secretary Oleksii Danilov said that Ukraine will not ask anyone for advice on the destruction of legitimate military targets on the territory of the terrorist state of Russia. "We will continue to destroy Russians wherever we find them."
