The occupiers claimed a massive attack in Crimea: explosions were heard near the Belbek airfield. Photos and videos
Powerful explosions on the night of August 9 woke up the Russian occupiers in Ukrainian Crimea. They claim it was their air defense repelling an attack by drones and Neptune missiles.
The loudest noise was in the area of the Belbek airfield in northwestern Sevastopol. This is reported by the "Crimean Wind" Telegram channel, citing Crimean subscribers.
According to them, last night there was a shooting and numerous explosions around the temporarily occupied city on the peninsula.
The invaders tried to shoot down unknown targets near the military airfield with a large-caliber machine gun. However, it did not work.
"At 04:40 there was an arrival. But it is not yet known where," eyewitnesses said.
After that, the propaganda Crimean publics began to write that a column of black smoke was rising over the Belbek and a very strong smell of burning was felt in the coastal zone.
Residents of Gollandiya village in the northern part of Sevastopol felt the blast wave. They say it was from a downed target.
Later, supporters of the occupiers claimed that the smoke was coming from the sea, not the airfield. According to them, Russian air defense allegedly destroyed a maritime drone opposite Victory Park.
Footage shows shooting and air defense launches in Sevastopol. Propagandists claim to have shot down a drone in the Orlivka area, the wreckage of which fell on Aviatoriv Street in Kacha.
"Following a turbulent night for the occupiers in Crimea, Sevastopol repelled three attacks by what are said to be Neptune missiles, UAVs, and marine drones. It was also noisy in Chornomorske, shooting and explosions were heard, the consequences are unknown," the authors of the Crimean Wind channel added.
