Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny commented on changes in the mobilization process in Ukraine. According to him, the military command of our country did not request the conscription of 500 thousand people.

Zaluzhny emphasized that Ukraine's military leadership regularly makes requests for ammunition, weapons and human resources. He said this during a national telethon.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the military fulfills its functions of protecting the state and has not requested any figures related to mobilization.

"The military command has not made any request for any figures. The military command continues to fulfill the functions of protecting the state, and accordingly forms its requests, requests for ammunition, weapons and human resources. This is done on an ongoing basis," Zaluzhny said.

At the same time, he explained that the military leadership takes into account the current shortage of units and the formation of new military units. At the same time, losses in the Armed Forces are expected over the next year. At the same time, Zaluzhny noted that he would not talk about specific figures because they are a state secret.

"We don't do this in a separate format, by going to the Cabinet of Ministers or the Verkhovna Rada. We fulfill our powers in accordance with the functionality we have been given. As for this figure, we have set it for the next year. It takes into account the current shortage of personnel, the formation of new military units and the forecast of our losses over the next year. I cannot disclose this figure because it is a military secret," the Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada that provides for significant changes in the mobilization process. The document, in particular, contains a list of prohibitions and penalties for evaders.

Earlier it was reported that the draft law proposes to clarify the grounds for granting deferment and exemption from military service during mobilization.

It should be noted that the day before, MP David Arakhamia said that the military command of Ukraine had requested the mobilization of 500,000 people. Today, the government continues to develop rules for conscription. According to the parliamentarian, the Cabinet of Ministers was supposed to submit a draft law on mobilization to the Verkhovna Rada on December 25.
