Situation at the ZNPP, strengthening of the border in the north and ammunition production: Zelensky gathered an expanded General Headquaters meeting. All details
On July 5, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a regular meeting of the Supreme Command Headquarters. Among other things, those present discussed the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the strengthening of the border in the north, and the build-up of Ukraine's production of equipment and ammunition.
"Today the General Headquarters is extended. Two hours to discuss the main challenges," the president said on his Telegram channel. He noted that the first topic of discussion was the protection of nuclear power plants.
It was reported by the commander of the Air Forces of the AFU Mykola Oleshchuk, the head of the Interior Ministry Ihor Klymenko, the head of the State Border Service Serhiy Deineko, as well as the director of Energoatom Petro Kotin and the director of the Khmelnytsky NPP Andriy Kozyura.
"The second topic is the situation on the frontline. Reports from commanders Zaluzhny, Syrsky, Tarnavsky, Moskalov and Nairv. The Commander-in-Chief has an order to strengthen the North," Zelensky said.
In addition, further increase of our own production of equipment and ammunition and the acceleration of Western equipment repair were discussed. - On the morning of July 5, the General Staff stated that the AFU had achieved success in the Klishchiivka area, pushing the enemy back from the south and north of Bakhmut. Russian propagandists said that the occupants had allegedly fled from the village. There, according to some reports, several thousand Wagner mercenaries died.
