"Shoots down everything": Zelenskyy says two more air defense systems arrived in Ukraine

Zelenskyy summed up the day

On February 2, Ukraine received two Western air defense systems. These air defense systems are capable of shooting down all types of missiles Russia launches at our territory.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who summed up the day. According to him, this is "the news we have all been waiting for."

"Two more air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine. All the details, of course, should not be said in public. However, these are systems that shoot down everything. We will defend the regions," Zelenskyy said, adding that these systems are not enough to fully protect the country.

The President did not specify which air defense systems Ukraine received and which country sent them. However, we should remind you that recently, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz pledged to send "several air defense systems", meaning IRIS-T and Patriot.

Zelenskyy also said that he had held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

"We focused on the issues of the front, ammunition, fortification, and protection of our energy networks. There are good results. In particular, Ukrainian drone production is constantly increasing. We have a clear plan for 2024 for drones. We are adding contracts and funding," he emphasized.

According to the Ukrainian leader, the meeting also touched upon fortifications, namelythe speed of construction and financing. The tasks are being fulfilled, the President said.

"As for Avdiivka, it is extremely difficult there," the President noted.

Zelenskyy also spoke about his international work, including a conversation with the president of Kazakhstan and a meeting with the foreign ministers of Canada and Malta (the latter is the current OSCE chair). He thanked his interlocutors "for their continued support of Ukraine."

The president added that a coalition for the return of Ukrainian children deported to Russia was launched in Kyiv.

"A framework document on its activities was presented. Canada is one of the co-leaders of the coalition," Zelenskyy said.

Traditionally, the president thanked everyone who helps Ukraine, who strengthens the country, and "everyone who fights and works for Ukraine to win."
