Sevastopol startled by powerful explosions: occupants claimed a drone attack, the AFU Navy saw nothing but "smoking"

Occupational authorities of Crimea have said that Ukraine allegedly launched a "combined" drone attack on the peninsula. Since the night of July 16, powerful explosions were heard in Sevastopol Bay, where the Russian air defense allegedly destroyed "surface and airborne UAVs".
Propaganda resources claimed so, and later the "repelling of the attack" was confirmed by Sevastopol's gauleiter Mikhail Razvozzhayev, of course without providing any footage. The AFU Navy trolled the invaders, advising them not to "smoke" in unspecified places.
"Sevastopol residents report loud explosions over the city... At least two strong strikes were heard from the direction of Sevastopol Bay. Preliminarily, an air defense system went off," the Russian public wrote around 03:00 Sunday.
In the morning, the so-called governor of temporarily occupied Sevastopol said that the air defense forces and the Russian Navy "repelled a massive attack by enemy UAVs" on the city.
According to him, it was over the sea near Cape Khersonese, near Sevastopol Bay and Balaklava. There, "one drone was shot down by air defense forces" and another "five were suppressed by EW means."
In addition, Razvozzhayev claimed that the Russian navy "destroyed two surface UAVs" at the outer roadstead. Traditionally, the gauleiter assured there was no reason for panic.
"The attack was massive and prolonged. Our military shot down all targets over the sea and on the approach to the bays. I emphasize: no objects either in the city or in the water area were hit," he assured.
The occupiers' henchman urged Crimeans not to be afraid of explosions and to trust "only official information", according to which "everything is quiet and calm", the military continues to "control of the air situation" and operational services are "always ready".
"Krym.Realii" journalists noted that the explosions in Sevastopol also rattled from 06:35 to 07:00 Sunday, there were indeed several air defense shots there. After that, five "living" drones flying in the southeastern part of the city were seen.
People in local chat groups were restless. Despite the occupants' assurances that there was no reason to panic, people complained about "very loud explosions", and some claimed that "it was helicopters taking out UAVs".
AFU Navy reacted to the occupants' complaints about "loud morning" in Crimea. In particular, the speaker Dmytro Pletenchuk called it "smoking in unspecified places".
As OBOZREVATEL reported, on July 12, residents of Sevastopol complained about explosions and shooting at night. Gauleiter Razvozzhayev gave a comment only after 10am in the morning, saying that it was a "training".
