Occupants struck at Odesa: a fire broke out, there are victims. Photos and videos
On the morning of Monday, June 24, Russian occupation forces attacked Odesa with missiles. Air defense forces were working, but there was also a hit, which resulted in a large fire and injuries.
Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov reported a loud sound in the city. Law enforcement officers published footage from the site of the hit.
Oleh Kiper, the head of the regional military administration, confirmed that the Russian attack had hit civilian infrastructure in the regional center.
"We already know about the victims, who are being provided with medical assistance, their number is being clarified. The fire is being extinguished," he said.
The Patrol Police of the region noted that crews are regulating traffic at the site of the strike and ensuring the unimpeded passage of special vehicles.
It should be noted that the Ukrainian Air Force warned after 07:50 that the enemy had launched missiles: one was headed for Mykolaiv, the other was flying through the Bashtanka district to the northwest. Then the missiles continued to move in the direction of Odesa region.
"They are heading for Odesa/Odesa region!" the Air Forces added at 08:00, and a few minutes later an explosion occurred in the regional center.
Serhiy Bratchuk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army "South" and head of the public council at the Odesa regional military administration, said that air defense was working well.
For their part, Odesa's publicists posted footage of black smoke in the city, claiming that it was an arrival. At the same time, they added that one missile was shot down. After that, the alert was canceled in the region and for the whole south.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, on June 19, Russia fired an Iskander-M ballistic missile at Odesa region from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. The attack damaged recreational infrastructure.
