Occupants in active defence: Maliar hints at a counter-offensive of the Armed Forces in the Zaporizhzhia sector

Active hostilities continue in the south and east of Ukraine in a number of areas. The Ministry of Defence has hinted at an offensive by the Armed Forces in the Zaporizhzhia sector.

Deputy Defence Minister Anna Maliar reported on the situation at the front as of June 8. According to her, the enemy is on the defensive in the southern sector.

"Fighting continues for Velyka Novosilka in the Novopavlivka sector. In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the enemy is in active defence near Orikhiv," Maliar wrote on her Telegram channel.

In the east, fighting continues in the Bakhmut sector, with Ukrainian troops conducting active operations.

"The enemy is trying to go on the offensive in some places, but without success," noted Maliar.

In the Kupianske and Shakhtarsk sectors, the occupants are carrying out air strikes and shelling Ukrainian positions.

The enemy is trying to advance in the Avdiivka and Lyman sectors. However, the invaders have no success.

Fighting also continues in the Maryinka sector. Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks near the town of Maryinka, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Bakhmut sector drove the enemy back from 1.8 km along the front line. The enemy also lost a position 1.2 km inland.
