Not only Novocherkassk: another Russian ship may have been damaged in occupied Feodosiia
The explosion that occurred on the night of December 26 in the temporarily occupied Feodosia may have led not only to the destruction of the Novocherkassk. There is a possibility that another occupier's ship was damaged as a result of the high explosive force.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine Natalia Humeniuk on the Kyiv 24 TV channel. She noted that everything in the port infrastructure is located close to each other.
"We need further reconnaissance in Feodosiia and comprehensive information on all the targets hit. It is likely that another ship was damaged because everything in the port infrastructure is located close to each other," Humeniuk said.
She noted that, unlike the enemy, the Armed Forces provide complete and truthful information that is always verified.
According to Humeniuk, even taking into account the necessary safe distance between combat units, an explosion of this magnitude could have caused damage to other objects.
She also noted that it is worth waiting for confirmation from Ukrainian intelligence.
As a reminder, local media reported an explosion in Feodosiia at night, followed by a fire and detonation. A photo of the port fire, showing a column of black smoke, was also published.
Later, the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, said that the Russian fleet was becoming smaller and that the Novocherkassk was joining the cruiser Moskva. Oleshchuk also thanked the Ukrainian pilots and everyone involved for their precise work.
The Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged the defeat of the Novocherkassk ship and claimed that the occupiers had allegedly destroyed "two Ukrainian Su-24 bombers" that were launching "guided missiles." Crimea's governor Aksenov reported one killed and two wounded.
