On October 1, a loud explosion was heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea near Dzhankoy. Preliminary, a missile flew to the peninsula.
Local residents saw smoke rising into the sky. Meanwhile, the Russian invaders reported that the air defense of the Russian Armed Forces "shot down an enemy target" and that the wreckage damaged the warehouses. The statement was made by the so-called head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov.
"There are no casualties or injuries... Please remain calm and trust only official sources of information," the Kremlin aide wrote on Telegram.
The Crimean Wind community reported that the explosion occurred around 12:37. Residents of Dzhankoy and Krasnoperekopsk districts heard it.
Occupant Oleg Kryuchkov, an adviser to Aksyonov, suggested that a "Ukrainian S-200 missile" was shot down.
