"I do not want to throw words to the wind": Fedorov named the safest messengers for Ukrainians
The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov has named the safest messengers for Ukrainians. This list includes Signal, WhatsApp, Trema, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram.
He spoke about this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine. Fedorov noted that one of the best messengers is currently the Signal instant messaging service.
"In terms of encryption, information transfer, Signal is probably the top one. It does a lot in the direction of WhatsApp, Trema, and Telegram security. In the order I mentioned. There's also Facebook Messenger, before Telegram," he explained.
Fedorov added that he has not done a technical audit of any social media or messengers.
"I don't want to throw words to the wind. I have not done a technical audit of any social media or messengers. I've given you my personal opinion. But the order of these social platforms may change depending on the technical audit," he said.
The minister reminded that Russian social networks are blocked in Ukraine. However, there are still people who use them, although it is very dangerous.
" You should not use Russian social networks in any case. It is extremely dangerous," the minister emphasized.
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, fraudsters create fake accounts of Ukrainians on Telegram and try to steal someone else's identity. After that, they find friends and relatives under someone else's name and ask them to "lend" several thousand hryvnias. Once the fraudsters receive the money, they stop responding to messages. And when the victim turns to the person to whom they allegedly lent the money, it turns out that the criminals were acting on someone else's behalf.
