"I am honoured": Zelenskyy showed the flag presented by Ukrainian marines

Zelenskyy showed the flag donated by Ukrainian marines

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy showed the flag of the Ukrainian Marines, which was handed over to him by servicemen last month on Marine Corps Day at front-line positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The head of state also showed the chevrons of the Marine units and thanked the country's defenders.

Zelenskyy stressed that each chevron symbolised a man who put his life on the line against evil. The president wrote about it in his Telegram (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the page).

According to Zelenskyy, each chevron gives a history of battles and fortitude, successes and, unfortunately, losses. The head of state stressed that each chevron embodies the blood and pain of fallen soldiers.

"When we see the chevrons of our soldiers, we see the outlines of our victory. We see its symbols, its mood, its creators - our heroes to whom we will always be grateful. It is an honour for me to keep the chevrons of our soldiers. Some of them were given to me at the front, some - by relatives of the heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine. Each one is important. Everyone deserves to be known and remembered by Ukraine, whose fates become victory," the President said.

We shall remind you that Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the events in Russia, where it was heading towards a military coup. He said that Ukraine will definitely be able to shield Europe from any Russian forces, no matter who commands them.

Zelenskyy earlier called on citizens to honour the memory of two Heroes who gave their lives for our country. They are two paratroopers of the 35th separate brigade of marines - captain Ivan Kotsur and senior lieutenant Oleksandr .
