Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov demonstrated Senator armored vehicles received from Canada. He emphasized that such equipment will help save thousands of lives of Ukrainian defenders.

They will save thousands of lives of our soldiers. Because, in the end, it is people who can win this war," the publication says.
Reznikov expressed gratitude to Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand and Public Safety and Emergency Management Minister Bill Blair, as well as to the people of Canada. He added that Canada and Ukraine had the same views on the situation on the battlefield.
Characteristics of Senator armored vehicles
The Senator are high-profile armored special operations vehicles from Canadian company Roshel Defense Solutions. They were introduced in 2018. Senator is designed for different tasks, in particular for the transportation of personnel and evacuation of wounded. It is also possible to mount weapons on it.
The armored vehicle has a steel body and glass that can withstand 12.7 mm rounds, as well as an explosion-proof body, can withstand the detonation of a grenade or mine. The tires have a Run Flat system with on-the-go inflation. The armored vehicle has 8 seats for paratroopers.
The vehicle is also equipped with a military-grade air filtration system capable of countering chemical, biological and radiological attacks by generating clean air inside the pressurized cabin.
In May 2022, the transfer of 8 vehicles was known, at which time they were spotted in Ukraine. In January 2023, Canada announced that it had included another 200 Senator units in a new aid package. According to the manufacturer's data, as of the end of May 2023, Ukraine had received about 500 vehicles.
It is known that Senator is actively used by soldiers of the State Border Guard Service. In Ukraine, the vehicle was modified several times based on the experience of its use. In particular, an engine less demanding to fuel quality was installed, an electric winch was installed, armor was reinforced, benches were replaced by a seat without contact with the bottom and a number of ergonomic improvements were made.
Ukrainian border guards from one of the units told CBC News that the Senator "feels safe" and is fast enough to allow for a quick exit from the battlefield.
"It picks up speed very quickly and will get us to the right places and do evacuation if we need it on the battlefield," said the commander of the State Border Guard Service unit.
As reported OBOZREVATEL, Canada announced the launch of a new program of permanent residence for Ukrainian refugees from October 2023. Only those who meet certain requirements will be eligible to participate in the program.
