Ukraine is preparing for the Peace Summit. Every day the country's authorities are countering Russian attempts to disrupt or weaken the Summit and adding new participants to the event. The foreign policy team is planning its negotiations and meetings in detail to prepare for the Peace Summit.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his traditional evening address to Ukrainians. In the video, the head of state summarized the results of May 30.

Strengthening of air defense

First of all, the Head of State thanked all the defenders of the sky: the soldiers of mobile firing groups, the Air Force of Ukraine, and all air defense units that protect Ukrainian cities and communities from Russian missiles and drones every day and night.

Zelenskyy assured that the government is working as hard as possible to strengthen air defense. According to him, in the near future there will be a lot of communication with partners about new air defense systems.

"In the near future, there will be a lot of communication with partners on this - on new air defense systems and joint productions, and in particular drone production - to increase volumes and attract special investments in such productions. This includes joint production with our partners and work in our country... We already have some confirmation from the leaders to increase our air defense capabilities," the Head of State said.

Diplomatic efforts

The President said that he had held several meetings with the foreign policy team, in particular on the Peace Summit. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the Ukrainian authorities were adding participants to the Summit every day and counteracting Russian attempts to disrupt the Summit.

"We plan negotiations, meetings of our representatives, and the content of documents in detail. This applies to defense packages for Ukraine, new security agreements, and the Peace Summit. In fact, every day we add participants to the Summit and counter Russian attempts to disrupt or weaken the Summit. Now every representative of Ukraine has a clear task: making the next month more effective for Ukraine," the Head of State emphasized.

Honoring the memory of Iryna Tsybukh

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the death of 25-year-old combat medic Iryna Tsybukh, who died yesterday, May 29, in the Kharkiv sector. The Head of State expressed his condolences to her comrades-in-arms and family.

Zelenskyy stressed that Iryna Tsybukh not only defended Ukraine but also worked tirelessly to engage others in the fight and raised the issue of respect for Ukrainian soldiers and the memorialization of the feat of Ukrainians.

"My condolences to all of Iryna's comrades and friends, to all of her loved ones, to everyone who knew her, and to everyone she inspired to fight for Ukraine and achieve results for Ukraine. It is very important that her work and the efforts of all our fallen heroes continue. Eternal and bright memory to all those who gave their lives for the sake of Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy summarized.
