As a result of the attack on January 4 on the closed command post of Russian troops near Sevastopol (temporarily occupied Crimea), the aggressors suffered casualties. Among those killed was Colonel Ismagilov Vadim Naylyevich of the opposing army.

He commanded the 3rd Radio Regiment of the 4th Guards Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the aggressor country (Southern Military District). Information about the death of the occupier was discovered on Russian social media by blogger and volunteer Serhii Sternenko. He shared the photos on his Telegram channel.

Vadim Ismagilov is a graduate of the Chelyabinsk Higher Military Automobile Command and Engineering School (2003). His funeral is scheduled for January 11 in Chelyabinsk.

In February of the previous year, Ismagilov received an award watch from the so-called head of Crimea "for conscientious work and protection of state interests." This information was shared on Twitter by blogger Necro Mancer.

In April 2023, one of the propaganda media published an article about the peninsula's air defense. In the article, Ismagilov was mentioned as the commander of a radio regiment.

The incident occurred near Sevastopol on January 4, 2024

According to information from open sources, the Russian 3rd Radio Regiment (military unit 85683) is based in the Lyubymivka neighborhood in occupied Sevastopol. It was formed in 2014 after the Russian occupation of Ukrainian Crimea.

On January 4, missile attacks were launched near Sevastopol against the 222nd air defense communication center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. It is subordinated to the 31st Air Defense Division, along with the 3rd Radio Technical Intelligence Regiment.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, commenting on the explosions in Crimea on January 4, the head of the joint press center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine Natalia Gumeniuk said that the main purpose of the strikes was to deprive the invaders of control on the southern front.
