Danilov on AFU counterattack: the Ukrainian army is doing the impossible, but it needs a lot more weapons
The Ukrainian Army is doing the impossible, carrying out combat missions without air superiority and conducting unique military operations. However, the Defense Forces require significantly greater supplies of weapons.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said this on July 7. "During active combat operations, the Ukrainian army is doing the impossible, breaking all established theories and practices of modern warfare," he wrote on his Facebook page.

According to Danilov, Ukrainian defenders successfully execute offensive and counteroffensive tasks under conditions of equal or even numerical minority of forces and means involved, as well as without air superiority, which is a case of unprecedented character.
In addition, the soldiers of the Defense Forces perform unique military operations without critical superiority in all components, as required by existing standards.

"What NATO army has such experience and such iron ... nerves? At the same time, Ukraine's priority is the lives of our soldiers. In this way, we have incomparably fewer losses even in terms of offensive and counteroffensive than the Russians," Danilov noted.
He stressed that the "miracle of Ukrainian fortitude" needs constant and considerably larger supplies of weapons. This issue is one of the main questions at General Headquarters meetings of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the efforts of the Ukrainian president and the government.
"Russia is today's Carthage and will be destroyed!" assured the secretary of the NSDC.
