Oleksiy Danilov

Alexei Myacheslavovich Danilov is the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine.

Short biography of Oleksiy Danilov

Alexei Danilov was born in Krasnoe Lucha, Lugansk region, on September 7, 1962.

Danilov received his first higher education at the Shevchenko State Pedagogical University in Lugansk. Shevchenko State Pedagogical University in Lugansk. Later, he studied at the Lugansk Institute of Internal Affairs and the National University named after Dahl.

He served in the Soviet Army from 1981 to 1983.

Later, Danilov for a long time was engaged in private entrepreneurship.

Alexei Danilov began his political career in 1994, taking the chair of Lugansk City Council. He remained in this position until 1997.

From 1999 to 2002, he taught at Dahl University.

From 2002 to 2006 Alexei Danilov was deputy director of the Institute for European Integration, with a break for almost all of 2005, during which Danilov chaired the Lugansk regional state administration.

In 2006, Alexei Danilov was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the lists of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc. However, due to the political crisis in 2007, Danilov resigned his mandate.

In 2007, Oleksiy Danilov ran for MP from the political force "Party of Free Democrats".

In 2019, Oleksiy Danilov was appointed Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. And already in October 2019, after Oleksandr Danilyuk resigned, Danilov took the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
