The Kremlin has placed a bet on the "python effect": Danilov highlighted the danger for Ukraine

Danilov revealed the Kremlin's strategy

As Russia faces challenges on the military front, the Kremlin is compelled to shift its tactics from short-term strategies to a more prolonged approach. The current focus is on the "boa constrictor effect" – a method aimed at gradually destabilizing Ukraine. The goal is to apply systemic pressure with increasing intensity to eventually undermine its statehood.

Oleksiy Danylov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, elaborated on this in his blog. According to him, Putin, the dictator, believes he is not constrained by time and is prepared to engage in a protracted struggle.

"He can wait out unfavorable external circumstances, but history has seen many such 'immortals' – some met unfortunate ends at their dachas in Kuntsevo, while others faced the gallows," cited Danylov, referring to historical episodes.

Danylov further suggests that the Russian Federation's ideal scenario involves Ukraine reverting to a state of uncontrollability and complete anarchy, akin to the period of 1917-1921. During this time, external and internal conflicts prevailed, leading to a fragmented nation. The Ukrainian army, instead of battling the Bolsheviks and interventionists, was consumed by internal power struggles, resulting in the loss of another opportunity for independence and statehood.

"We've been caught in this cycle for our entire history," he laments. Danylov emphasizes that Ukraine's security and defense agencies are actively countering the outlined Russian plan. However, unity within society is crucial for effective resistance.

"Ukrainians deserve respect, an open and honest conversation; they deserve to know and understand the potential consequences. With a united understanding of the dangers, we can act cohesively, leaving the enemy no opportunity to exploit divisions," he concluded.

As previously reported by OBOZ.UA, Danylov stressed in Halifax that Ukraine requires external security guarantees, with NATO membership being the most effective. Post-war, Ukraine aspires to claim its rightful place in the new architecture of European and global security, contributing to the transformation of the world order.
