Comprehensive preparation for winter in terms of emergency response and air defense: Zelenskyy holds a meeting of the Energy Bet

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief dedicated to the country's energy security and comprehensive winterization. The meeting focused on the protection of energy infrastructure at all levels.

The Head of State announced this on his Telegram channel. The meeting was attended by representatives of key government agencies, including Naftogaz, Ukrenergo, the Ministries of Energy, Internal Affairs, Community and Territorial Development, as well as the Air Force and regional military administrations.

"Energy Bet. Comprehensive preparation for winter. Reports from all those involved in the process: Naftogaz, Ukrenergo, the Ministries of Energy, Internal Affairs, Community and Territorial Development, the Air Force, and regional military administrations," the statement said.

During the meeting, various levels of energy infrastructure protection were discussed, including engineering solutions, electronic warfare, and air defense forces.

"Our aviation will take an active part. We have also decided to strengthen air defense in the border and frontline regions," Zelenskyy added.

In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs presented an action plan to respond to shelling and quickly repair damage. The work on creating a dispersed network of cogeneration units was discussed separately.

As a reminder, the National Security and Defense Council believes that Russia may resume massive attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector. This threat increases with the approach of winter and frost. Ukraine is preparing for Russian attacks on the energy system

Earlier in the day, it was reported that EU ministers are preparing for a meeting on the situation in the energy sector. The meeting will focus on the issue of Russian gas supplies, and participants will discuss various plans to replace Russia in the EU energy market, as well as the participation of the Ukrainian gas transportation system.

The meeting will take place against the backdrop of the expiration of the agreement on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, which will cease to be valid on January 1.
