"A powerful reminder": Britain praises destruction of Caesar Kunikov

Armed Forces need help from Western partners

British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps praised the destruction of the Russian Caesar Kunikov Project 775. The sinking of the large amphibious assault ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is a "powerful reminder" that Ukraine can win this war.

And to achieve this faster, the Armed Forces need the help of Western partners. He wrote about this on his account on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Today I will meet with allies at a global conference to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The sinking of another Putin warship will be a powerful reminder of how Ukraine can win this war with our funding," said Grant Shapps.

He emphasized that every nation should take a step to help protect the "front line of freedom."

As reported by OBOZ.UA: On the morning of February 14, explosions were heard in Yalta, Alupka and Miskhor in the occupied Crimea. The network reported an attack on a ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, enemy helicopters flew over the sea, and another ship came to the "drowning" ship to help.

The DIU and the Armed Forces confirmed the defeat of the Caesar Kunikov Project 775 ship. According to OBOZ.UA sources, the attack was carried out using surface drones.

Earlier it was reported that the crew of the Caesar Kunikov failed to escape. The DIU showed footage of the destruction of the Caesar Kunikov by naval UAVs.

- The Kremlin could not answer the propagandists why Russia is losing ships. Russian Presidential Secretary Dmitry Peskov advised to "focus" on the statements of the Russian Defense Ministry.

- The network drew attention to a nuance: it was on February 14, 1943, that the hero of the USSR, Cesar Kunikov, died, in whose honor the dock landing ship was named.

- It is known that Caesar Kunikov distinguished himself during the Russian aggression in Georgia. It was based in Sevastopol, its tail number was 158.

- The network exploded with jokes and memes after Russia lost the Caesar Kunikov on Valentine's Day.

- The Strategic Communications Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that about a third of the Russian Black Sea Fleet has been put out of commission. Twenty-four vessels and one submarine (not counting the Caesar Kunikov) have been sunk or severely damaged. In total, the Black Sea Fleet had 74 warships in service.
