A ferry carrying fuel was hit: a large-scale fire in the "Kavkaz" port in the Kuban. Photos and videos

The Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation announced the arrival of a ferry with tanks

On the evening of August 22, the occupied Crimea complained of an attack by Ukrainian "Neptune" missiles. The occupiers blocked the Kerch Bridge and stopped the movement of sea passenger transport in occupied Sevastopol. The Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation reported the arrival of a ferry with fuel tanks at the port of Kavkaz on the Taman Peninsula.

Local publics published photos and videos of the fire in the port, which show a high column of smoke over Taman. The footage also shows the moment of one of the explosions.

According to media reports, the ferry "Aquatrader," loaded with railroad tanks with fuel, was hit.

According to other reports, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the "Conro Trader" ferry, the only large ferry operating between Kerch and Russia.

"The ferry with tanks is burning not just strongly, but very strongly," the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported.

As of 17:23, the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory confirmed the attack on a "railway ferry with fuel tanks" in the port of Kavkaz.

"Emergency and special services are working at the scene. The area of the fire and information about the victims is being clarified," they said.

The operational headquarters also urged not to publish photos and videos of Russian air defense operations "in connection with the incident" in the Kavkaz port.

Russian media reported that a fire train was sent to the port of Kavkaz to extinguish fuel tanks "after a missile attack by the Ukrainian army."

The head of the Temryuk district of Kuban said that 30 tanks with fuel were on a ferry in the port of Kavkaz, which was damaged during the attack by the Ukrainian army.

The Kuban Operations Center, in turn, stated that the ferry sank in the waters of the Kavkaz port as a result of the damage. There are no fire sources on the territory of the port itself.

The network also published satellite photos from August 18, showing the ferry Korno Trader loaded with cars with fuel and lubricants in the waters of the Kerch fishing port.

The port of Kavkaz is the fifth largest port in the aggressor country of the Russian Federation and the second largest in the Black Sea-Azov basin after Novorossiysk.

It is located on the Chushka Spit in the Kerch Strait in the Temryuksky District of the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation.

As OBOZ.UA reported, on the night of August 21, the Rostov region of the Russian Federation was also restless. They reported a missile attack on an oil depot and a massive fire in Novoshakhtinsk.

The local authorities claimed that the targets were shot down. However, the Ukrainian Navy later reported that the Defense Forces had hit an S-300 air defense system near Novoshakhtynsk.

In addition, on the morning of August 22, the SSU, together with the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hit warehouses with CABs and fuel at the Marynivka airfield in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation, which is actively used by the enemy to bombard the front line. The region complained of an attack by 28 UAVs and explosions, a fire broke out near the airfield and detonation sounds were heard.
