President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed legendary footballer and former Ukraine national team coach Andriy Shevchenko as his advisor. The corresponding decree No. 589/2023 of September 26 was published on the President's website.

"To appoint Shevchenko Andriy as an advisor to the President of Ukraine (freelance)," the text reads.

On May 5, Zelensky launched the United24 global initiative, which aims to unite people around the world to help Ukraine. All funds go to the accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine.

46-year-old Shevchenko became the first ambassador of the United24 fundraising platform.

On August 5 Andriy Shevchenko organized a Game4Ukraine charity match at the home arena of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, London, in support of Ukraine.

Last November, Shevchenko and United24 started raising funds to restore the Champion Stadium in Irpin, Kyiv region.
