Zakharova accused the IOC of collusion with Ukraine to "squeeze" Russia out of international sports

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has made ridiculous accusations against the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and its president, Thomas Bach. The accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime announced a conspiracy between the IOC and Ukraine against Russians.

Zakharova said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency TASS. According to her, Bakh allegedly asked Ukrainian athletes to monitor the statements of Russian athletes about the war on social media in order to prevent the participation of Russian representatives at the Olympic Games in Paris.

"Bach is in cahoots with the Ukrainian side and has empowered them to collect information on Russian athletes, which will form the basis for refusing to allow athletes from Russia to participate in the relevant Olympic events. This is a pure conspiracy, but not between two individuals, but between the head of an international organization and one country to squeeze out a third party," Zakharova said.

The day before, former biathlete Svetlana Ishmuratova said "asking Ukrainians is low" and made an absurd statement about the IOC's fear of Russia. Earlier, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, president of the Russian Olympic Committee (IOC), demanded that the IOC move the 2024 Games from Paris after the city's mayor, Anne Hidalgo, said she did not want to see athletes from Russia and Belarus compete.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the president of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBI), Mikhail Mamiashvili, complained that in Paris, "Wehrmacht troops were joyfully welcomed" but that they "do not want to see" Russians. And two-time Olympic gymnastics champion Lidia Ivanova called Anne Hidalgo an idiot.
